HULL - Margaret Elizabeth “Beth” Strickland, 59, died Thursday, December 1, 2011.
Born in Commerce, she was the daughter of Dorothy P. Swindel of Hull and the late George Amory Swindel, Jr. She was a 1970 graduate of Madison County High School and worked for nearly 20 years at the Athens Plastic Surgery Clinic, followed by several years with Dr. Kevin Adams in Danielsville. She enjoyed reading, knitting, taking care of her cats and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors in addition to her mother include her husband, Rudy Strickland; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Bronwyn Strickland, Dolores, Colo., and Seth P. and Heather Strickland, Hull; sister and brother-in-law, Ann Swindel and Jim Nuckolls; aunt, Carol Cappleman; cousins, Jimmy Jones, Leigh Foster and Patsy Jones, Hull, Jon Jones, Arkansas, Rodney Park, Iowa, and Cynthia Seagraves, Commerce.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 3, at the chapel of Lord & Stephens, Danielsville, with the Rev. Billy Owensby officiating. Interment was in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family would like to offer their sincere appreciation to Beth’s cousin, Patsy Jones, and aunt, Carol Cappleman, both of Hull, for their care and support, as well as Susan Young, Beth’s spiritual advisor.
Memorials may be made to Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter.
Lord & Stephens, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.
