JEFFERSON - Mary Elizabeth Burt, 73, died Saturday, November 12, 2011, at her residence in Jefferson.
Born in Corbin, Ky., she was the daughter of the late Chester and Nancy Ponder Roark. She was of the Baptist denomination. Mrs. Burt was preceded in death by her sister, Della Roark.
Survivors include her husband, Larry P. Burt; and eight children: Billy Darling and wife Judy, Sonja Darling, Teresa Greene and husband Howard, Jimmy Darling, Gerald Burt, Patrice Herrington and husband Sherman, Renee Smith and husband Joe, and Lisa Grizzel and husband Brian.
Funeral service will be at held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 19, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with the Rev. Ovie Allen Spurlock officiating. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Corbin, Ky.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, November 18, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master St., Corbin, KY.
