ATHENS - Evelyn Fowler Clark, 86, died Saturday, November 5, 2011.
Born in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late James Roy and Lillie Belle Daniel Fowler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred Evans Clark, Sr.; daughter, Rebecca Clark Duffell; son, Russell Wayne Clark; grandson, Mark Duffell; and sister, Dale Stephens. She was a retired office manager from the family business, Clark Flying Service. For a number of years, Mrs. Clark was a volunteer for St. Mary's Auxiliary and was a longtime member of Sonlight Baptist Church.
Survivors include sons, Fred (Sandra) Clark, Toccoa, and David (Judy) Clark, Colbert; son-in-law, Darrell Duffell; sisters, Sharon (Grady) Brown and Ann (Paul) Harris, both of Royston; seven grandchildren, Travis Clark, Cyndie (Mike) Hunt, Michael Duffell, Matthew (Yana) Duffell, Kevin (Stacey) Clark, Kathryn (Chris) Flores and Christopher (Megan) Clark; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Allen Hunt, Rett, Wes, and Kade Clark, Caleb and Abby Flores and Madeline Alewine; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 8, at 11 a.m. from Lord & Stephens Chapel, EAST, with the Rev. Kevin Clark officiating. Interment will be in Athens Memory Gardens. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, November 7, from 6 until 8 p.m.
