‘Aunt Doote’ Saunders (11-5-11)

WINDER – Elizabeth “Aunt Doote” J. Saunders, 93, died Saturday, November 5, 2011.

Born in Winder, she was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Ella Laura Queen Saunders. She was a member of Winder First Baptist Church and was retired from Union Carbide as their office manager.

Survivors include three sisters and a brother-in-law, Lois and Bob White, Winder, Eris “Woodie” Saunders, Winder, Katherine Healan, Winder; sister-in-law, Sybil Saunders, Winder; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, November 7, at 2 p.m. from Smith Memory Chapel with John Talley officiating.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, November 6, from 1 to 8 p.m.

Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
