COMMERCE - Thomas Lee Whitsel, 72, died Friday, November 4, 2011 at his residence.

He was born in Jackson County the son of the late Andy and Bell Roberts Whitsel. He was a member of Rogers Baptist Church and was retired from Mt. Vernon Mills. Mr. Whitsel was preceded in death by his wife, Sara Tench Whitsel.

Survivors include his daughter, Sandy Cooke; son, Mike Whitsel; and sister, Betty David, all of Commerce; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 6 at Rogers Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday night, November 5, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
