ATHENS – James Talmadge Moore, 81, died Wednesday, November 2, 2011.

Born in Clarke County, he was the son of the late Talmadge and Eleise Frances Carithers Hale. Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Moore; and a brother, Edward Hale. He was a United States Army and United States Navy veteran.

Survivors include a son, David Moore, Thomaston; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and brothers, Sonny Hale and Milton Hale, both of Colbert.

The body was cremated and memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, November 5, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home in Danielsville with the Rev. Barry Black officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home located at 42 Booger Hill Rd., Danielsville, on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m.

Ivie Funeral Home, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
