ROYSTON – Gerald Pearson, 74, died Monday, October 31, 2011, at the St. Mary’s Hospice House in Bogart.
Born in Madison County on November 7, 1936, he was the son of the late John Hubert (Dasher) and Lena Cape Pearson. He was former owner and operator of Savannah Valley Carpets and was a member of the Mill Shoal Baptist Church. He was a member of the Royston Masonic Lodge #52.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Human Pearson, Royston; sons and daughters-in-law, Keith and Angela Pearson and Curtis and Geraldine Pearson, both of Royston, and Kent and Christa Pearson, Athens; grandchildren, Brooke Pearson Thompson, Mikala Pearson, Gerald Pearson and Mason Pearson; a great-grandson, Carson Thompson; brothers, Felton Pearson, and Hugh Doyle Pearson, both of Morrow, and Stanley Pearson, Royston; and a sister, Linda Carol Bryson, Conyers.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 3, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Revs. David Bailey and Robby Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Royston. The body is at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, November 2. The family is at home.
