ATHENS – Douglas R. Minish, 73, died at the University Nursing and Rehab Center Sunday, October 30, 2011.
Born in Commerce, he was the son of the late Melvin and Ruby Greene Minish and was also preceded in death by siblings, Rudolph Minish, Betty Jane Dispain and Coil Lee Minish.
Survivors include children, Deborah Ann (Gary) Ragsdale, Baldwin, Sandra (Mac) White, Homer and Lisa (Greg) Peck, Hull; grandchildren, Christy (Trent) Ayers, Scott (Chasity) Brock, Stephenie (Michael) Sailers, Clayton David, Adrienne David and Patrick Burroughs; great-grandchildren, Jewels, Jacy and Brent Ayers, Destiny, Austin and Kyler Brock, and Natalie, Cierra, Carlee and Peyton Sailers; former wife, Clara Minish, Homer; siblings, Ronnie Minish, Homer, Linda Jordan, Commerce, Francis Brown, Homer and Becky Williamson, Jefferson; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 2, from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with interment in the Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, November 1.
