WINDER - Mary Estelle Ray Carlisle, 71 died Sunday, October 30, 2011 at St. Mary’s Hospital following a brief illness.
Born November 1, 1939 in Duluth, she was the daughter of the late Nathan Howell “Pop” Ray and Mary Lois McAdams Ray. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Newell Dean Carlisle; a son, Michael Carlisle; daughter, Sandra Brock; granddaughter, Jane Brooks; brother, Willie Ray; and sisters, Bobbie Jane Carlisle and Alice Thompson.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Lee and Lisa Carlisle, Flowery Branch; daughters and sons-in-laws, Ellen and Alfred Brooks, Commerce, and Beverly and Ricky Wall, Arcade, Susan Carlisle and Melinda Carlisle, both of Winder; son-in-law, James Brock, Winder; daughter-in-law, Vicki Carlisle, Hartwell; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Thomas and Joyce Ray, Hull, Dale and Sandra Ray, Nicholson, and David and Debbie Ray, Nicholson; sisters, Ann Nix, Flowery Branch, and Helen Nesbitt, Auburn.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, November 3, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Revs. Gary Carlyle and Charles Reese officiating. Interment will follow in Mulberry Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 1, and Wednesday, November 2, from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
