COMMERCE - Larry J. Parker, 68, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011 following a brief illness.
He lived most of his life in Flowery Branch and was a graduate of Johnson High School. He was the son of the late Andrew J. and Flonnie Parker and was the owner of L&K Marine for 10 years. He worked as a Customer Service Rep for several of the auto dealerships in the area for many years. Larry loved to deep-sea fish and deer hunt. Mr. Parker was preceded in death by four brothers, Hoyt, Frank, Winford and Gladyston Parker; and a sister, Lucille Gurley.
Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Kathy Parker; sons, Todd Parker, Lula, and Tony Parker, Flowery Branch; daughter and son-in-law, Lee and Danny Flanagan, Flowery Branch; daughters, Robyn Welch and Pam Bryant, both of Commerce; sister, Ruth Swancey, Flowery Branch; eight grandchildren, Kayla and Gracie Parker, Saun Voyles, Seth Flanagan, Zandy Elliott, Cherica Proctor and Tara and Summer Bryant; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, from the chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with entombment following in Memorial Park South Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, October 22, at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
