DANIELSVILLE - Shirley H. Hauntsman, 76, died Monday, October 17, 2011 at Heritage Healthcare of Athens.
She was born in Pelham, N.H., the daughter of the late Herman and Vera Carter. She was a member of Cabin Creek Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Hauntsman was preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Hauntsman, Sr.; and a sister, Marjorie Baney.
Mrs. Hauntsman is survived by a daughter, Dianne Sperre (Mark), Marion, Mass.; sons, David Hauntsman, Sr. (Martha), Buford, Walter J. Hauntsman, Jr. (Leigh Anne), Piedmont, S.C. and Stan Hauntsman (Donna), Danielsville; brothers, Richard Carter, Windham, N.H., and Eugene Carter of Pelham, N.H.; sister, Anne McClain, Watkinsville; eleven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, October 20 at Cabin Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Stan Hauntsman and Mr. Bobby McClain officiating.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Georgia, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, GA 30346.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
