Rachel Langford

Rachel Langford, 83, of Winder, died Sunday, August 17, 2008.

Born in Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Mell and Claude Belle Griffeth Langford. She was a member of the Winder First United Methodist Church, was the secretary for Herrin Drug Company, Superior Garment and Winder Plumbing, and was the last of 14 children.

Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 19, at 2 p.m., at Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Larry Rary officiating. Burial will be in Chapel Christian Church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 19, from 12 to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.

Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
