JEFFERSON - Linda Ruth Hobson Campbell, 64, died Monday, October 17, 2011.
She was born in Athens, the daughter of the late Paul and Eddie Ruth Garrett Hobson. She worked at a day care center and at the Garden Room at the State Capitol. Mrs. Campbell was an avid lover of animals and advocated and supported organizations that worked towards the prevention of animal cruelty. She was of the Baptist denomination.
Survivors include her husband, William Campbell, Jefferson; a son, Michael Wayne Moore, Jefferson; daughter, Layla Campbell Sears, Pendergrass; brother, Jimmy (Gale) Hobson, Douglasville; grandchildren, Paul (Samantha) Moore, Locust Grove, McKenna Moore, Riley Moore and Dakota Sears Campbell, all of Pendergrass; nieces, LaNora Hobson Mills, Emily Hobson; and great-nephews, Kyle and Jimmy Mills.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 20, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Revs. Don Blalock and Chad Rising officiating. The burial will follow in the Apple Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. The visitation will held on Wednesday evening, October 19, from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
