COMMERCE – Willie Tom Slater, 73, died early Friday morning, October 7, 2011, at his residence.
Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Paul James and Minnie Mae Gee Slater. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Kitchens Slater.
Survivors include siblings, Barbara McEver, Gertrude McDaniel, Clifford Slater and Johnny Slater, all of Commerce, and Dorothy Kitchens, Hull; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 9, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce with the Revs. John Webber, Henry Webb and Donald Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, October 8, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
