AUBURN - Charles Pinckney Reed, 70, the beloved husband of Ellen Worley Reed, died suddenly Friday, September 28, 2011. He was born October 4, 1940.
Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Duffy G. Reed; grandson, Julian; and brother, Angus Reed and wife Nancy.
Charles was a born again believer and a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. He was a volunteer for the Republican Party, also with MARR, an alcohol and drug recovery program, and Sober is Great, an AA program at Peachtree Presbyterian Church, and twice a year he was chief chef at their Agape Retreat. He also helped feed the First Responders every holiday.
A celebration of Charles’ life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 8, at Union Grove Baptist Church, Auburn, with a celebration luncheon immediately following in the Fellowship Hall.
