Charles Reed (9-28-11)

AUBURN - Charles Pinckney Reed, 70, the beloved husband of Ellen Worley Reed, died suddenly Friday, September 28, 2011. He was born October 4, 1940.

Survivors in addition to his wife include a daughter, Duffy G. Reed; grandson, Julian; and brother, Angus Reed and wife Nancy.

Charles was a born again believer and a member of Union Grove Baptist Church. He was a volunteer for the Republican Party, also with MARR, an alcohol and drug recovery program, and Sober is Great, an AA program at Peachtree Presbyterian Church, and twice a year he was chief chef at their Agape Retreat. He also helped feed the First Responders every holiday.

A celebration of Charles’ life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, October 8, at Union Grove Baptist Church, Auburn, with a celebration luncheon immediately following in the Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to Union Grove Baptist Church, 4080 Fence Road, Auburn, GA 30011, for their mission programs.

Airport Mortuary, Atlanta, is in charge of arrangement.
