Donnie Lee Sanders, Sr. (10-4-11)

HULL - Donnie Lee Sanders, Sr., 57, died Tuesday, October 4, 2011.

Born in Seneca, S.C., he was the son of the late Leonard Leon and Betty Sue Roach Sanders. He was preceded in death by brothers, Robbie Dewitt Sanders and Tommy Orr Sanders and was retired from E.R. Snell after 20 years. He loved the outdoors.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Hamby Sanders, Hull; children, Mack Scott Colley, Travelers Rest, S.C., Rebecca Ann Cox and Betty Louann Adams, both of Colbert, Adam Lee Sanders, Loganville, Donnie Lee Sanders Jr., Hull, Betty Sue Sanders, Athens; sister, Debra Roberts, Seneca, S.C.; brothers, Terry Sanders and Michael Leon Sanders, both of Seneca, S.C.; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 7, at 2 p.m. at Lord & Stephens East Chapel with the Revs. Rick Lawing and Tim Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Athens Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 6, at the funeral home.
