‘Bill’ Segars (10-2-11)

WINDER - William “Bill” C. Segars, Jr., 80, died Sunday, October 2, 2011.

He was the son of the late Chester Segars, Frances Langford Segars Waddell and stepfather, Bill Waddell. Mr. Segars retired from the United States Army after 24 years. He also retired from Rohr Aircraft and Johns Manville.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Betty Wood Segars, Winder; three daughters and son-in-law, Wanda Segars Frachiseur, Auburn, Vicky and Gary Webb and Chrystal Segars, all of Winder; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren which are Tony, Beth, Madison and Bailey Webb, Brandi, David Reeves and Dylan Amos, Raina Radtke and Austin Holbook, Josh, Jenifer and Linneya Frachiseur, and Kristie Segars.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 4, at 2 p.m. from Smith Memory Chapel with John Talley officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday, October 3, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 340, Winder, GA 30680.
