Jurell Dunagan (9-24-11)

STATHAM – Jurell Thurmond Dunagan, 94, died Saturday, September 24, 2011.

Born on September 15, 1917, she was the daughter of the late H C and Lithonia Mobley Thurmond. She was preceded in death by her husband, Coleman Dunagan; son, Jack Dunagan; and brothers, Lawrence Thurmond, Charles Thurmond and Julius Thurmond.

Survivors include grandchildren, Elaine Wright and Jack and Karen Dunagan; great-grandchildren, Travis Wright, Cole Dunagan, Ellen Dunagan and Matthew Dunagan, all of Statham; sister, Betty Brooks, Athens; daughter-in-law, Becky Dunagan, Statham; sister-in-law, Dot Thurmond, Norcross; many nieces and nephews; and longtime care giver, Betty Bowles; and other caregivers, Marie Hargrove, Donna Dorsey and Noal Thurmond.

Funeral services will be held Monday, September 26, at 2 p.m. from Smith Memory Chapel. Burial will be at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery.
