James Brown (9-16-11)

COMMERCE - James Oscar Brown, 91, died Friday, September 16, 2011 at his residence.

Born in Banks County, he was the son of the late Charlie and Nora Brown. He was retired from Hurst Ford. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by a son, Jim Brown; daughter, Nora Ruth Brown; and great-grandson, Alex Brown.

Survivors include his wife, Alma Grace Epps Brown, Commerce; son, Jack Brown, Commerce; daughters, Kay Hill, Maysville, and Tilly Wilson, Black Mountain, N.C.; brother, Tom Brown, Commerce; sister, Liz Connley, Athens; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Sunday, September 18 from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Henry Webb officiating. Interment followed at Blacks Creek Baptist Church Cemetery
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.
