GROVETOWN – Howell L. Wilson, 62, husband of Linda Woodward Wilson, entered into rest on Saturday, September 3, 2011, at University Hospital.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and his first wife and Clay’s mother the late Mrs. Joan H. Wilson. He attended Warren Baptist Church and was in business with his son, Clay, as a Master Carpenter.
He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, Papa, brother, who had a heart of gold. He never met a stranger and he always brought so much love and joy to his family and everyone who knew him. His wonderful smiles and hugs will be missed by all who loved him.
Survivors include sons, Clay L. Wilson (Dana), Dennis Crowe (Deanna), Kevin Crowe (Kim), all of Evans; daughter, Dena C. Heard (Stephen), Martinez; brother, Donald Russell Wilson (Diane), Jefferson; sister, Evelyn O’Kelley (Richard), Jefferson; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Doris and Dock Woodard, Augusta; nine grandchildren, Zach Wilson, Bethany Wilson, Ryan Gram, Haley Crowe, Madalyn Crowe, Rachel Crowe, Mallory Crowe, Skyler Heard, Stephen Heard and Samantha Wilson Heard; sisters-in-law, Pam Curnutt (Jimmy) and Terri Hamrick (Jim); and brother-in-law, Garland Woodward (Emily), Snellville.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, September 6, at Platt’s Belair Road Chapel with the Rev. David Dillard officiating.
Burial was in Bellevue Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers were Jimmy Curnutt, Jim Hamrick, Tom Healan, Dennis Crowe, Kevin Crowe, Stephen Heard and Tr Reinhardt. Honorary pallbearers were the members of the Big Buck Hunting Club.
Platt’s Funeral Home, 337 North Belair Rd., Evans, GA 30808, was in charge of arrangements.
