OAKWOOD - Ronald “Ronnie” Philip Brooks, 64, died on Thursday, September 8, 2011.
He was born on August 3, 1947, the son of the late George and Jimmie Brooks. He served in the United States Air Force and was employed as a detention officer with DeKalb County.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Sharon Hale Brooks; a daughter, Melissa Brooks, Braselton; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Michael Knight, Oakwood; sister, Pat Brooks Galloway, Chamblee; granddaughters, Victoria Wallis and Katherine Knight; and loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 10, at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with the Rev. Dave Chennell officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, September 9, at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.
