TOCCOA - Dorothy Marie Forrester Grafton, 92, of 271 Racetrack Road, Toccoa, died Thursday, August 25, 2011 at her residence.
A daughter of the late Will Grant and Cora Duskey Ivie Forrester, she was born March 15, 1919 in Habersham County, having lived most of her life in Stephens County. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Habersham County and attended Calvary Baptist Church in Toccoa. She was employed with Wright’s Manufacturing for a number of years and later became a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Grafton in 1986; and a grandson, Doug English.
Survivors include two daughters, Mildred English and Brenda Ausburn and her husband, Morris, all of Toccoa; four grandchildren, Renea English Deal, Tanya Pattillo, Wendi Ausburn and Connie English; five great-grandchildren; sister, Emma Mullinix, Clarkesville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 28, at the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with eulogy by Bryant Chitwood and the Rev. Jewell Gaines officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Scott Carpenter, Greg Grafton, Wayne Grafton, Dustin Grafton, Joe Brown, and Bryant Chitwood.
Burial was in the Stephens Memorial Gardens.
Acree-Davis Funeral Home, Toccoa, was in charge of arrangements.
