COMMERCE - Ambray Sorrow, 79, died Friday, September 2, 2011 at Northridge Health and Rehab.
He was born in Jackson County, the son of the late Osie and Lila Slater Sorrow. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and was a small engine repairman. Mr. Sorrow was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Anderson Sorrow.
Survivors include a son, Jack Sorrow, Jefferson; brother, Gene Sorrow, Commerce; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 3, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with the Rev. Ralph O. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday night, September 2, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.

AMBRAY WAS A VERY LOVING AND CARING MAN. HE WAS MY UNCLE, I WILL MISS HIM VERY MUCH. HE DID A LOT FOR THIS COUNTRY WE LIVE IN , HE SERVED IN THE KOREAN WAR AND WAS PROUD OF IT.

Mr Ambray was a very kind and thoughtful man. I had the pleasure of meeting him and seeing him on a daily basis when I worked at BJC. He always had a smile and never complained. I am sure he wil be missed bu so many people. May he rest in the peace and comfort of God's love.
