MAYSVILLE - Beverly “Bev” Thompson, 79, died Monday, August 29, 2011 at Northridge Medical Center.
He was born in Goodwater, Ala., the son of the late Aldrich and Ada Bailey Thompson. He was a retired business owner of Bev Thompson Conveyor Company. Mr. Thompson was a member of the Homer United Methodist Church, was a United States Air Force Veteran, member of the American Legion Post 215, Banks County Cattleman’s Association, member of the Banks County Board of Equalization, and member of the Kiwanis Club.
Survivors include his wife, Romayne Boshell Thompson, Maysville; daughters and son-in-law, Carol Lingerfelt, Maysville, and Cheryl and Harold Smith, Flowery Branch; son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Terry Thompson, New Jersey; brother, Clifford Thompson, Birmingham, Ala.; sisters, Flawdene Foy, Alexander City, Ala. and Susan Lloyd, Everett, Wash.; grandchildren, Sarah Plunkett, Sam Thompson, and Kevin Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Friday, September 2, at 2 p.m. from the Homer United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim McLendon and David Bowen officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, September 1, from 6 to 8 p.m.
