WINDER – Guy M. Cooper, 84, died Sunday, August 28, 2011.
Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Ira B. and Willie L. Cooper. He was a retired transportation director for Barrow County Schools after 20 years and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Cooper was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce E. Cooper.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Frances Cooper, North Richland Hills, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Doyle Hill, Hoschton; grandchildren, Brandi and Kevin Owensby, Kasey Hill, and Brady and Karen Cooper; and great-grandchildren, Jake and Ella Owensby.
Funeral services will held Thursday, September 1, at 11 a.m., from Smith Memory Chapel. Burial will be at the Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, August 31, from 5 to 8 p.m.
