Jack R. Crosby, Jr., 60, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 23, 2011.
He was born in Norfolk, Va. on August 10, 1951 and was preceded in death by his parents, Nellie Harrell Crosby and Jack Russell Crosby, Sr. He was recently retired from the State of Georgia, Office of Inspector General, where he worked as a Senior Investigator for 34 years.
Jack served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and cooking. He loved going to the beach and all the pleasures that went along with it, fishing, boating, swimming and walking. Always fun to be with, Jack had a great sense of humor. Family, neighbors, co-workers all enjoyed Jack’s helpful attitude and his sense of integrity.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Dinah Cantrell Crosby, Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Jane Crosby Knapp and Dr. William Knapp, Atlanta; and a niece and nephew.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 27, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with the Rev. Clack Stubbs officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Hall County Animal Shelter and Rescue, 1688 Barber Rd., Gainesville, GA 30507.
