Emily Guthrie

Emily Gammage Guthrie, 92, of Jefferson, died Wednesday, August 13, 2008.

She was born in Union City, and was a homemaker and a member of the Jefferson Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Dorsey Guthrie; and a daughter-in-law, Susan Guthrie.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Kay Guthrie and David Autry, Jefferson; sons and daughter-in-law, Peter H. and Beverly Guthrie and Hugh D. Guthrie, all of Jefferson; grandchildren and spouse, Shannon A. and Glenn Loughridge and Phillip Guthrie Autry; great-grandchildren, Gibson Dorsey Loughridge and Crawford Hughes Loughridge.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 16, at 10 a.m. in the Jefferson Presbyterian Church with Minister Michael Jarrett officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in the Sweetwater Chapel Cemetery on Pleasant Hill Road in Lawrenceville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friends of the Jefferson Public Library, c/o Amy Carland, 379 Old Pendergrass Rd., Jefferson, GA 30549, or the Jefferson Presbyterian Church, 243 Washington St., Jefferson, GA 30549.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home.
