SANFORD COMMUNITY - Kitty Lonette Payne, Madison County, died Friday, August 12, 2011.
She was the daughter of Mary Seagraves and the late Robert Seagraves. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Payne; and a son, Barry Fitzpatrick. She worked at Snelling Hall and The Georgia Museum of Art at the University of Georgia. Kitty was a lifelong member of the Gordon's Chapel United Methodist Church in Sanford. During a large portion of her membership there she served as pianist and choir member. In addition to her work on the University campus she taught piano lessons in her home. Some of Kitty's greatest pleasures were working in her flower garden, spending time with her grandchildren, playing the piano, and enjoying life with her beloved George.
Survivors include a sister, Montine Davis; daughters, Susan Boswell and Donna; and grandchildren, Jonathan Boswell, Salem Fitzpatrick, Joseph Boswell, Jordan Boswell, Brady Fitzpatrick, Austin Sisk, and Emma Boswell.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 14 from the Gordon Chapel United Methodist Church.

Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.
