Annie Laura Elrod (8-13-11)

PENDERGRASS - Annie Laura Underwood Elrod, 90 died on Saturday, August 13, 2011.

She was born in Pendergrass, the daughter of the late Paul and Sarah Smith Underwood and was a retired inspector in the manufacturing industry. She was a member of Pendergrass Baptist Church. Mrs. Elrod was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Elrod.

Survivors include a daughter, Diane Reed, Gainesville; son, Dennis Elrod, Pendergrass; three grandchildren, Amy Reed, Brook Buckalew, and Brandy Elrod; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Sarah Nell Bruce, Pendergrass; two brothers, Henry Underwood, Pendergrass, and J.A. Underwood, Gainesville; and special caregiver, Lisa Lunsford.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 16, from the Pendergrass Baptist Church with the Rev. Ervin Goss and Dwayne Major officiating. Burial was in the Pendergrass Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Thomas Underwood, Harry Underwood, Jim Love, Donnie Sheridan, Steve Underwood and Bobby Gene Bruce.

Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, was in charge of arrangements.
