JEFFERSON - Billy Joe Wooldridge, 71, passed away Saturday, August, 6, 2001 at his residence in Jefferson from Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Brenda Wooldridge.
He was a Veteran of the United States Navy, graduated from the University of Arkansas and worked in the print trade until retirement. Bill enjoyed square dancing, fishing with his grandchildren, and working in the yard. He was a man of deep faith and compassion for others. He was a devoted father and grandfather, a member of Arcade Community Church, a thoughtful neighbor, an avid Braves fan, and had a huge heart for his beloved pets.
He is survived by his former wife Joanne O╒day Crook and their daughters, Angela Marie Nesbit, Rex, and Patty Lynn Lequeux, Jefferson; sister and brother-in-law, Melba and David Smith; and nephews, Jonathan and Dustin Smith, Pocahontas, Ark.; granddaughter, Ashley Nesbit; great-granddaughter, Lilian Denise Allen, both of Lawrenceville; and grandson, Tony Lequeux, Greenville, S.C.
The family wishes to personally thank Dr. Richard Loyd of GA Cancer Specialists, Dr. Jan Brandys of Barrow Surgical Associates, Paula Rosenbaum (RN) and Latrisse of Compassionate Care Hospice, and the many friends and neighbors who have offered love and support in our time of loss.
Memorial services will be held at Arcade Community Church on Saturday, August 20, at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Church at PO Box 133, Jefferson, GA 30549.
Lawson Funeral Home, Hoschton, is in charge of arrangements.
