HULL – Gilma Freeman Cromer, 86, died Thursday, August 4, 2011.
A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Buren W. and Mildred Smith Freeman. Mrs. Cromer was preceded in death by brothers, Watson Freeman and Coyle Freeman. She was retired from Dr. Ed Lewis’s office as a nurse and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Cromer, Hull; sons, Gary Cromer and wife, Elizabeth, Madison County, and Dan Cromer and wife, Cheekia, Winder; sister, Velma Magness, Anderson, S.C.; grandchildren, Micaela Cromer, Mendi Cromer and Meg Perry and husband, Joey; great-grandson, Cale Perry; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 8, at 10 a.m., from Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Jonathan Tolbert officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 7, at Bernstein Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Odyssey Hospice, 855 Gaines School Rd., Athens, GA 30605.
