Larry Smith (7-30-11)

LAVONIA - Larry Theodore Smith, 73, died on Saturday, July 30, 2011.

He was born April 22, 1938 the son of the late Willard and Glada Emerson Smith. He served in the United States Army Reserves. Mr. Smith was the owner of Handling Equipment Industries and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Hartwell.

Survivors include his wife, Joanne Boles Smith, Lavonia; sons, Roy T. Smith (Marcia), Bethlehem, Chris G. Smith (Tina), Jefferson, and Glen W. Smith, Lawrenceville; brother, Roy O. Smith, Pittsburg, Pa.; and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Thursday August 4, at 2 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 691 Benson Street, Hartwell, Ga. 30643 with the Rev. Ron Hughes officiating.

Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.
