Freder Roberts Wade, 84, of Alto, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Athens Regional Medical Center in Athens, following an extended illness.
Born in Banks County on March 19, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Ben Roberts and Lou Eller Wade. She attended the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Wade was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow B. Wade; a brother, Lonnie Roberts; and sisters, Mae Wade, Maude Dodd, Leler Goodson, Montine Purdy, Josie Wade and Inez Roberts.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Archie Browning, Clarkesville; son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Brenda Boling Wade, Alto, and Benford and Jennifer Lee Wade; sister, Pauline Thomas, Alto; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and special granddaughter, Melinda Wade Mull.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 16, at the Pleasant Grove Methodist Church with Pastors Mike Franklin and Pennie Eddy, and the Revs. Danny Masters and Carlton Bates officiating. Burial was at Yonah Memorial Gardens with the Revs. Clyde Garrison and Don McLean officiating.
