COMMERCE – Thomas Ed Culpepper, 80, died.
He was the son of the late Willie and Gertrude Hardy Culpepper. He was a retired carpenter and crane operator and was a charter member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Mr. Culpepper was preceded in death by a son, Mitchell Culpepper; brother, Bud Culpepper; and sister, Willard Denham.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Sara D. Culpepper, Commerce; daughter-in-law, Judy Culpepper, Commerce; sister, Belle Murray, Commerce; grandchildren, Jeff (Michelle) Culpepper and Christy (Jason) Goldman; great-grandchildren, Sage Culpepper, Kane Goldman and Kaden Goldman.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 28, at 2 p.m., from the Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Revs. Douglas Duncan and Scott Culpepper officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family is at the residence 998 Fort Lamar Road and will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, July 27, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.

My love and sympathy to Aunt Sara and all the family in the loss of Uncle Ed. He was such a good man with a sweet personality. I will love and remember him always.
