William Roberts (7-25-11)

LULA - William Allen Roberts, 71, died Monday, July 25, 2011 at his residence.

He was born in Nashville, Tenn., the son of the late Clarence Frank and Annie Eunice Wall Roberts. He was preceded in death by brothers, Clarence Roberts, Gerald Roberts and James Roberts; and a sister, Mary Roberts. He served in the United States Army. He retired from the State of Georgia Correctional Services as a training officer. He was of the Baptist denomination.

Survivors include his wife, Annette Roberts; sons, Allen Hembree, Gainesville, and Allen Roberts Jr., Goodlettsville, Tenn.; daughters and sons-in-law, Suzanne and Ricky Moore, Gainesville, Vicky and Stacy McCall, Lula, Brenda Roberts, Madison, Tenn., Patricia and Albert Lee, Mt. Juliet, Tenn., and Denise Roberts Bozeman, Madison, Tenn.; brother, Raymond Roberts, Madison, Tenn.; sister, Peggy Fischer, Madison, Tenn.; grandchildren, Molly Moore, Jessie McCall, Jacob McCall, and Trenton Hembree.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, from the chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment to follow at Flowery Branch City Cemetery. Pastor Tilly Welborn will officiate. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
