David Bennett (7-24-11)

BUFORD - David L. Bennett, 62, of Buford, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2011.

He was born November 3, 1948 in Buford, and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed with Dexter Farms in Buford. He was of the Baptist denomination. Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his parents, Bryson and Grace Bennett; sisters, Hattie Mae Atha, Pat Frost, Betty Jean Bennett, and Margie Ann Bennett; and brothers, Douglas Bennett and Ronnie Bennett.

Survivors include sisters, Nell Pugh, Cumming, Kathy Marie Bennett, Braselton, and Linda West, Winder; brothers, Tony Bennett and Jimmy Bennett, both of Winder, and Bud and Mitzi Bennett, El Paso, Texas; brothers-in-law, Jack Atha, Sugar Hill, and David Frost, Fort Payne, Ala.; and 20 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 27, at 12 noon in the chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with the Rev. Joel Shadburn officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 26, from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.
