Emily Guthrie

Mrs. Emily Gammage Guthrie, 92, Jefferson, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008.
A native of Union County, she was a homemaker and a member of Jefferson Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dorsey Guthrie Sr., and daughter-in-law, Susan Guthrie.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kay Guthrie and David Autry of Jefferson; son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Beverly Guthrie of Jefferson; son, Hugh Guthrie of Jefferson; grandchildren, Shannon Loughridge and her husband, Glenn, and Phillip Guthrie Autry; and great-grandchildren, Gibson Dorsey Loughridge and Crawford Hughes Loughridge.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, at Jefferson Presbyterian Church with Minister Michael Jarrett officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Sweetwater Chapel Cemetery on Pleasant Hill Road in Lawrenceville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Friends of the Jefferson Public Library, c/o Amy Carland, 379 Old Pendergrass Road, Jefferson, Ga., 30549, or the Jefferson Presbyterian Church, 243 Washington Street, Jefferson, Ga., 30549.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson.
