Dennis Ward (7-17-11)

JEFFERSON - Dennis Roger Ward, 66, died on Sunday, July 17, 2011.

He was born in Jackson County, the son of the late Colie Jeffie and Johnnie Eula Massey Ward. He was retired from Ingles where he was a Meat Market Manager, and he was of the Methodist denomination. His sons, Gregory Michael Ward and Brian Roger Ward, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Randy Smith, Watkinsville; sisters, Gayle Doster, Statham, and Joyce Sullivan, Winder; brother, Dwight Ward, Jefferson; 10 Grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 19, at 2 p.m. in the Bethany United Methodist Church with the Rev. Billy Pittman officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 1:30 to 2 p.m., prior to the service. The burial will follow in the church cemetery with Randy Smith, Russ Doster, Ronnie Norris, Brandon Smith, John Wayne Venable and Francis Finch, honored as pallbearers. The visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
