John Douglas Hadley, 87, of Hoschton, died Thursday, August 14, 2008.
He was born in Bayonne, N.J., the son of the late Fred and Sadie Morris Hadley. He was a retired machine operator in the shingle manufacturing business and was a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force. Mr. Hadley was preceded in death by a daughter, Marion Walden.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Lewis Hadley, Hoschton; daughters and son-in-law, Barbara and Billy Glasby, Hoschton, Joan Burch, Staten Island, N.Y.; sister, Doris Graham, Pottstown, N.J.; granddaughters, Cheryl Iski-Crea, Hoschton, and Jennifer Myrick, Lawrenceville; grandson, Mark Glasby, Hoboken, N.J.; and a great-grandson, Christopher Aden Myrick, Lawrenceville.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 16, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Luis Ortiz officiating. Burial will be in Evans Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary’s Hospice, 1500 Oglethorpe Ave., Suite 200C, Athens, Ga. 30606.
The family will receive friends Friday, August 15, from 6 to 9 p.m., at the funeral home.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.
