HARTWELL - Curtis Viola Evans Standridge, 84, died on Wednesday July 13, 2011.
She was born in Banks County, the daughter of the late Fletcher and Elsie Mae Savage Evans. She was a retired seamstress and was member of the Believers Baptist Church. Mrs. Standridge was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Geri Brittany Standridge; sisters, Cordie, Annie Lois, Ola Mae, Mary, and Ethel; and brothers, Lee and Elton.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Luther Clyde Standridge, Hartwell; daughter, Carolyn Pointer, Lavonia; son, Luther Gerald Standridge, Jefferson; sister, Montine Davis, Jefferson; brothers, Alonzo Evans, Statham, Loyd Evans, Jefferson, Connie Lee Evans, Gulfport, Miss.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 16, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Revs. Gary Barnes and Waymon Dotson officiating. The burial will follow in the Jackson Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Friday, July 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Strickland Funeral Home in Hartwell. Visitation will also be held Saturday morning, July 16, at 10 a.m., at Evans Funeral Home in Jefferson prior to the service.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.
