Victor “Eddie” Couch, 55, died Sunday, July 10, 2011.
A native of Athens, he was the son of the late Lawrence Bruce and Vicky Lorene Bales Couch. He served in the United States Air Force from 1975-1979 and was a former police officer with the City of Watkinsville. Mr. Couch was employed with Windstream Telephone Company as a transport engineer and attended the Princeton United Methodist Church during his youth.
Survivors include his wife, Kim Couch of Mt. Airy; her children, Andrew and Bridget Shirley; his son, Justin Couch with wife, Brenna, Winder; and his daughter, Amanda Couch-Tibbs, Bethlehem; sister, Cathy Heard with husband, Shaefer, Bishop; grandchildren, Emma, Brady, Bowie, and Brianna; nieces, Cristin and Callie Heard; and a great-nephew, Avery Heard.
A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, July 15 at Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev. DeeDee Lawson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 14, at Bernstein Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, is in charge of arrangements.
