HOMER – Francis I. Vaughn, 79, died Monday, July 11, 2011, at Northridge Medical Center in Commerce.
Born in Hall County, she was the daughter of the late George and Omie Baugh Cotton. Mrs. Vaughn was preceded in death by her husband, Joe V. Vaughn who passed away in 2008; and a brother, Jude Cotton.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Sherry Vaughn and Rickey and Dessie Vaughn; grandchildren, Toni (Kenny) Hodges, Amanda (Mark) Thorton, Daniel and Dylan Vaughn, Candice Welt and Caprise (Kenny) Wilson; great-grandchildren, Emma, Jacob, Eden and Dessie; and siblings, W.J. “Dub” Cotton, Billy (Martha) Cotton, Genette Buffington, Avinell Carlan, Mary Lou Cotton, Catherine (Otha) Shubert and Shirley (Don) Blalock.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 13, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Blalock officiating. Burial will be in the Banks County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, July 12, from 6 to 9 p.m. and at other times at the residence located at 216 Garrison St. in Homer.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
