FLOWERY BRANCH - Lewis Wainer, 68, died on Friday, July 8, 2011 at his residence.
Born in Yuba City, Calif., he was the son of the late Fred and Elizabeth DeMott Wainer. He served in the United States Navy for five years. He retired from the U.S. Forest Service after 32 years of service as a District Fire Management Officer.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Phyllis Wainer; son and daughter-in-law, Corey and Regina Wainer, Flowery Branch; son, Darren Wainer, U.S.M.C. Active Duty; four brother; one sister; two grandchildren, Devon and Sierra; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, at Memorial Park South Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday before the service at Memorial Park South Funeral Home. The Rev. Derek Jackson will officiate.
