‘Woody’ Wood

Daniel A. “Woody” Wood, 56, of Commerce, died Monday, August 11, 2008, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.

Born in Salzburg, Austria, he was the son of the late Darce Cecil and Peggy Glendean Walker Wood.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Janet Ward Wood; son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Michelle Wood, Commerce; brother, David Wood, Hephzibah; sisters, Joyce Wood, Idaho, Kathy Wood, Columbia, S.C., Belinda Sheppard, South Carolina; grandchildren, Skyler and Taylor Wood; step-mother, Carolyn Wood, Wrens; step-brother, Dwayne Wood, Wrens; step-sister, Sissy Wood, California.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 14, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeffrey Murray officiating. Burial will be in Banks County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, August 13, from 6 to 9 p.m.
