Robert Merk (7-6-11)

JEFFERSON - Robert Lewis Merk, 84, died on Wednesday, July 6, 2011.

Born in Maysville, he was the son of the late Claude and Jurell Garrison Merk. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army and was retired from Smith Hardware and Keasler Supermarket. Mr. Merk was a member of Oconee Baptist Church.

Survivors include his sister, Claudine Merk, Jefferson; brother and sister-in-law, Howard and EmmaJean Merk, Jefferson; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be Friday July 8, at 11 a.m. at Oconee Baptist Church with the Rev. Gene Carlan officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive fiends on Thursday, July 7, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
