DANIELSVILLE – Bennie James Scott, 87, died Sunday, July 3, 2011, at the University Nursing Home in Athens. Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Howard Scott.
Survivors include children, Patricia Jordan, Sallie Smith and Darnell Scott, all of Athens, and Larry Scott, Hull; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, July 7, at 11 a.m., from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home in Danielsville with the Revs. Tommy Cowart and Derick Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Family Worship Center, P.O. Box 80852, Athens, GA 30608.
