MAYSVILLE – Gerald Lee Barnes Sr., 70, died Tuesday, June 28, 2011, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
Born in Tifton, he was the son of the late Hosie Lee Barnes and Janie Hobbie Stone. Mr. Barnes was preceded in death by a daughter, LaJuanda Barnes; and sister, Barbara Barnes.
Survivors include children, Tammy Barnes, Baldwin, Elizabeth Flowers, Charity Barnes and Taleigh Barnes, all of Homer, Kevin Barnes, Athens, Jerry Barnes, Blue Ridge, and Jessie Barnes, Newnan; sisters, Leesa Barnes Shropshire, Clarkesville, and Marie Ann Stone, Newnan; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 1, at 11 a.m., from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home in Commerce with the Rev. James Dumas officiating. Burial will be in the Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, July 1, from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
