Virginia Bruce (6-22-11)

STONE MOUNTAIN - Virginia Jacks Bruce, 89, died on Wednesday, June 22, 2011.

Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Bailey and Lunie Sheffield Jacks. Mrs. Bruce was retired from Kmart, where she was a department manager. Her husband, John Franklin Bruce; four sisters; four brothers; and a great-grandchild, all preceded her in death.

Survivors include sons, Jeff and Becky Bruce, Stone Mountain, Charles and Terri Bruce, Toccoa; grandchildren, Jeffrey Ray Bruce, Lisa Bruce Folds, Jasmine Carter, Heather Wheeler, Maya Wheeler, Christy Frothingham, Robert Pressley, and Nathan Pressley; and great-grandchildren, William Bruce, Emma Frothingham.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 25, at 12 noon from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Brandon officiating. Burial will be in the Galilee Christian Church Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 to 12 p.m. in the funeral home, prior to the service.

Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.
