Bernice Fleming (6-21-11)

CORNELIA - Bernice Massey Fleming, 94, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 21, 2011.

Mrs. Fleming was born in Banks County, on December 11, 1916, to the late Ellis Melvin and Cora Belle Edwards Massey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Odis Fleming. Mrs. Fleming was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cornelia, The Three-L Sunday School Class, Helping Hands, Round Table, WMU and AARP. She was the retired Chief Financial Officer of Fleming Foodservice with 47 years of service.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Martha Anne and Eli Dunagan, Mt. Airy; son, Douglas Fleming, Hollingsworth Community; one brother, Robert Massey, Commerce; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 24, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Eric Spivey and the Rev. Gary Morris officiating. Interment will follow in the Yonah Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest.
