HOMER - Ida Mildred Pruitt, 58 died Sunday, June 19, 2011 at a private nursing facility.
Born in Jackson County on February 16, 1953, she was the daughter of Virginia Poole Pruitt of Homer and the late J.W. Pruitt. Miss Pruitt was retired from Fieldale Farms and was a member of Charity Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Miss Pruitt was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Pruitt; sister, Marion Pritchett; brothers-in-law, Herbert Bray and James Pritchett; and nephew, Lacey Pruitt.
Survivors in addition to her mother, include a brother and his friend, James Pruitt and Kathy Freeman, Baldwin; sisters and brothers-in-law, Chris and Harry Dietrich, Homer, and Carolyn and Eugen Eckstein, Maysville; sister-in-law, Louise Pruitt, Commerce; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, at the chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart Funeral Home with Elder Paul Bryson and the Rev. Vaughn Howington officiating. Interment will follow in Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Barry Bray officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, June 20, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m.
McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home of Cornelia is in charge of arrangements.

Happily, we can be among those with that grand prospect of living forever. The Bible says, "holds promise not only for this life but for the life to come." That "life to come" is also called "the life which is life indeed."-1 Timothy 4:8; 6:19.
